Ballplayers ages 9–10 continue to build and refine their fundamental skills while beginning to learn more structured game play, teamwork, and basic strategy.
This division uses player pitching with age-appropriate rules intended to promote confidence, safety, and consistent game action. Base running concepts, including stealing bases, are introduced at this level in a controlled manner to support development and fair play.
Rosters are typically composed of around 12 players, and 10 players are used in the field during each inning. Minimum play time requirements are in place so every player receives a fair opportunity to participate each game. The diamond uses 60-foot base paths and a pitching distance of 46 feet.
Teams in this division may have the opportunity to participate in inter-league games with other local leagues, depending on scheduling and participation levels.
All teams advance to a single elimination tournament style playoffs at the end of the season.
Parents are strongly encouraged to become involved in this level of Baseball. After completing a Volunteer Application, passing a required background check, and attending a free certification program, parents may become involved in practices and be eligible as coaches, managers, umpires, and league board members.
