REGISTRATION FEES

No Hidden Fees, No Surprises

What will it cost to register for your child to play?

Per Player Registration Fee:  $80 to $125 depending on division
  - Running a safe, educational, recreational youth baseball and softball league gets more expensive every year.  The price of insurance, uniforms, baseballs, softballs, bats, safety equipment, and even the special diamond mix used for the fields goes up every year.  As a non-profit youth organization our goal is not to make a profit, it is to provide a safe, affordable program for the boys and girls of our community.  We set our registration fees based on the projected cost to run the programs.  As the players get older the cost of running the program goes up and therefore the registration fee goes up.
  - We ask local and national businesses to sponsor our programs and our teams to help reduce the out of pocket expense to the participants.  You will see these sponsors listed as part of your team name, displayed on our website, and even on signs around the fields.  Through the generosity of these businesses the cost of the programs to each individual participant is able to be reduced.  Please consider supporting these sponsors whenever you can, without them the cost of our programs would be significantly higher.
  - We offer an optional fundraising program that will allow you to recoup up to $100 per player by selling 20 $5 lottery tickets.  If you choose to participate you will keep the money you collect, up to $100 per player, and only return the ticket stubs.  This can effectively reduce your out of pocket expenses significantly.

NO Per Family Volunteer Deposit:
 - UPDATE FOR 2024 - In 2023 we scheduled a team to be responsible for working in the snack stand and it worked great.  Because of this success, we have eliminated the volunteer deposit fee and will schedule teams to work in the snack stand.  This is how it works, during each time slot we will schedule a team to work in the snack stand.  We will need 2 parents or adult (16+) family member to arrive at the snack stand 20 - 30 minutes before the game starts and work in the stand for the duration of the game.  Your team may be scheduled for more than 1 game.  You will be provided with a discount code to save $25 off of the following spring season registration.

None of our board member or coaches are paid, they volunteer their time so we can provide an affordable youth sports program that benefits the boys and girls of our community.  In order to continue to keep prices affordable for everyone we need your help.  If you are able to donate just a little bit of your time each year it helps us keep the programs affordable.  In exchange for your time, you will receive a credit for the following season.

Registration Service Charge:  $3.00 per transaction
  -  Unfortunately this one is out of our hands, our website provider charges $3 per transaction plus standard credit card service fees.  The league absorbs the credit card service fees but we do not have an option to eliminate the transaction fee.  Think of it like a convenience fee charged when you purchase tickets to a football game or a movie theater.  That $3 service fee goes directly to the website provider.

Family Maximum: $350 Division Fees
  -
The family maximum applies to immediate family members that reside in the same household.  The family maximum cannot be used to register extended family members such as cousins that do not reside at the same physical address.  To be eligible, participants from the same household must all be registered during early bird or regular registration and must register under the same family website account.  Late registrants are not eligible for the Family Maximum discount.

 3 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:
Cheektowaga Youth Baseball & Softball is a 100% volunteer run organization. Everyone, including the Board of Directors, is a volunteer. The grass is mowed by voluteers, the teams are coached by volunteers, the snack stands are run by volunteers, and the fields are prepared by volunteers. We do not receive help from the town and we do not have any paid employees. We rely 100% on volunteers to be able to continue to offer affordable Baseball & Softball programs to the boys and girls of our community. We need your help. We need you to volunteer.

It's not much, but all volunteers will receive a $25 credit, applied to their league account, to be used toward the next season registration. To receive this credit, an adult parent or guardian can do any of the following a) work one shift at one of our concession stands, or b) register for, complete the certification for, and volunteer as a Team Manager or Asst. Coach for the duration of the season, or c) Volunteer for a board of directors position.

Beginning for the 2023 season, teams will be assigned volunteer days. An adult representative from the team will be required to work in the snack stand. The adult from each team that works in the snack stand will have satisfied the requirements to receive a $25 credit for the following season. If no adult from the team volunteers, that team will forfeit their game. The board of directors has resisted implementing this policy for several years but due to the lack of volunteers we can no longer avoid it. We do not want to see any team forfeit as a result of this policy but we need to keep the snack stand open to help pay for umpires, game equipment, field maintenance, etc. The only other option is to significantly increase registration fees, we do not want to do that.

Only one credit is issued regardless of the number of participants registered.  Credits expire when registration for the next season closes.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Registration must be completed and paid in full online or in person no later than February 28 to be eligible for customized jerseys. A $10 Late Registration Fee will be added to all registrations after February 28.

Cheektowaga Youth Baseball Division Descriptions

7-8 Machine Pitch

The 7-8 Baseball division is designed primarily for ballplayers ages 7–8.  This division makes use of a pitching machine to allow for more hittable balls at the plate and more action in the field. Fear of actually being hit by a pitched ball is diminished. It makes the game safer and improves the playing confidence and ability of all participants.

Rosters are typically composed of around 12 players, and 10 players are used in the field during each inning.  Minimum play time requirements are in place so every player gets a fair opportunity to play each game.  The diamond uses 60-foot base paths and the pitching machine is placed at a distance of 46 feet.

All teams advance to a single elimination tournament style playoffs at the end of the season.

Parents are strongly encouraged to become involved in this level of Baseball.  After completing a Volunteer Application, passing a required background check, and attending a free certification program parents may become involved in practices, and be eligible as coaches, managers, umpires, and league board members.

9-10 Baseball

Ballplayers ages 9–10 continue to build and refine their fundamental skills while beginning to understand game strategy and teamwork.  Young Athletes are first introduced to youth pitching and stealing bases in this division.

Rosters are typically composed of around 12 players, and 9 players are used in the field during each inning.  Minimum play time requirements are in place so every player gets a fair opportunity to play each game.  The diamond uses 70-foot base paths and a pitching distance of 50 feet.

13-15 Baseball

The 13-15 Baseball Division was created for ballplayers ages 13–15 who wished to continue their baseball playing experience beyond the age of 12. This is where players get to dig their baseball cleats into standard 90' diamonds for the first time under the Official Baseball Rules used by Major League Baseball.

Rosters are typically composed of around 12-15 players, and 9 players are used in the field during each inning.  Minimum play time requirements are in place so every player gets a fair opportunity to play each game.  The diamond uses 90-foot base paths and a pitching distance of 60 feet 6 inches.

Players in this division will compete against teams from other local leagues and all teams will advance to a single elimination tournament style playoffs at the end of the season.

Players in the 13-15 division often have the opportunity to play baseball for their High School so we have shifted the season so it does not conflict with the high school baseball schedule.

16-19 Baseball

The 16-19 division is the highest and most accomplished level of youth baseball offered.  Players in this division will compete against teams from other local leagues.

Rosters are typically composed of around 12-15 players, and 9 players are used in the field during each inning.  The diamond uses 90-foot base paths and a pitching distance of 60 feet 6 inches.  This is a wood & bamboo bat only division.  All teams will advance to a single elimination tournament style playoffs at the end of the season.

Players in the 16-19 division often have the opportunity to play baseball for their High School so we have shifted the season so it does not conflict with the high school baseball schedule.
