Attention Cheektowaga Youth Baseball Families,
Cheektowaga Youth Baseball remains committed to the health and welfare of our players and their families. In light of new guidance from the state of New York and the Federal Government we are making some additional adjustments for the 2020 Spring Baseball Season. We have extended our temporary restrictions on Team and Group Activities until May 15th.
We are continuing to make plans for the Spring Baseball Season. While the current adjustments will result in a delay in the start of the season we are hopeful that as the rest of the country begins to transition back to a more normal way of life that New York State will continue to see significant progress that will allow us all to once again be together at the ball park cheering on our kids in the coming weeks. We are still planning to play baseball this year once it is safe to do so.
The player draft has been scheduled for Saturday May 2nd. We have made adjustments to the draft to ensure that it is done safely in a manner consistent with the current guidelines.
Opening day has been postponed. We hope to be able to provide everyone with a new date as new information becomes available. We have been in contact with our uniform supplier, deemed as non-essential and not currently working. We are considering adjustments to the uniforms to allow them to process them as quickly as possible once they resume operations. These adjustments may have to include removing player names and/or sponsors from the jersey.
Cheektowaga Youth Baseball will continue to monitor changes in the guidance of medical experts as well as the precautionary measures being implemented by the school districts, towns, Erie County and the Federal Government. We will continue to adapt our plans as new guidance becomes available.
Best wishes to everyone. Stay safe and healthy. We will be back together soon enough and we can’t wait to see you all again.
Sincerely,
Cheektowaga Youth Baseball
